Coaching Qualifications

Congratulations to Sheenagh Christie and Lesley Lorimer who successfully passed their Women’s Artistic Club Coach exams. Their hard work and determination has been rewarded with highly commended passes in both the practical and written exams which were held in Invergordon recently.  Their achievement is an excellent boost not only for them but also for the club. Well done!!

Fife Gymnastic Network Level 8 & 9 Competition

Recently 12 gymnasts from our Senior and Development Squad represented the club at the Fife Gymnastic Network Level 8 & 9 Competition. Once again the gymnasts proved that their hard work and determination did not go unrewarded.   Our 8/9 Team won the Silver Team Medal (Kirsty Rollinson, Erin Mackay, Kerry Oag & Rachel Duncan)   Our 13+ Team did especially well with Laura Gulloch winning the Overall Gold Medal and Mey Erridge taking home the overall Bronze Medal, with these two individual medal winners it meant that our 13+ Team (Laura Gulloch, Mey Erridge, Laura Sandison & Claire Nicolson) also brought home the Gold Team Medal.

Gymfest 2003

We once again travelled down to Meadowbank in Edinburgh to take part in Gymfest 2003. A little later than in previous years, at the end of May rather than the beginning. The gymnasts performed a super routine to the music from Bugsy Malone which was very well received from the audience. We returned home after a very long day and night but everybody felt that it was really worth the effort and enjoyed the whole day performing and watching the other routines. (Plus buying new leotards!!!)

Prize Bingo Night

Recently the club held their first ever Prize Bingo Night this was decided upon to have a change from our usual sponsored event and have a little fun while making some money. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated prizes and came along to the evening itself. It was a very successful evening with around £600 raised for club funds. Due to its success the bingo night is something we will definitely be having again in the future.

2003/2004 Session

Classes will resume after the school holidays on Tuesday August 19th. See you all then.     Updated 10th  July 2003

Success at Scottish Rhythmic Gymnastics Novice Championships

On Saturday March 15th 2003, three of our Rhythmic Gymnasts took part in the Scottish Novice Championships for Rhythmic Gymnastics, held at the Craigwillow Centre, Livingston, West Lothian.    Natalia Hodgson and Anna Cassidy both aged 13 competed in the Under 14 Category.  They both performed their routines very well, with Natalia taking the title of Scottish Novice Champion for her age group and Anna taking the Silver Medal.  Gemma Wares aged 15 competed in the over 14 age group, she gave a solid performance and also took the silver medal in her age group.   In the open competition, which included gymnasts from England, Natalia received the silver medal with Anna taking the Bronze and Gemma also receiving a Bronze Medal.   This is only the Second time the Rhythmic Section of the club has competed in the National championships.   Check the gallery section for photos!!     North District Novice and Intermediate Competition   On the 30th of March 2003, 16 gymnasts went to Inverness to take part in the North District Novice and Intermediate Competition. All 16 gymnasts performed well with 6 taking away medals in their respective age groups for the individual competition. They were; Laura Gulloch – Gold overall, Gold for floor and Silver for vault, Mey Erridge – Gold overall, Silver for vault and Bronze for floor, Natalie Williamson – Gold for floor, and silver overall, Suzanne McLaren – Gold for floor, Karen McColm – Silver for floor, Laura Sandison – Bronze for Floor. The club also won 2 team medals, Gold for the over 12 A team and Silver for the 10/11 A team, and came away with the North District Team Trophy! A big well done to ALL of the gymnasts who went and competed.       OLD Videos   Do you have a video of our show (Christmas or otherwise) taken in 1992,1993,1994, 1995 or 1996?   We are trying to build up a library of show videos and are missing copies of the above years.  If you can help please contact one of the club coaches, we would be delighted to hear from you.       2002 Annual Show

Every February Oscar Fever hits the entertainment community and film fans around the world, building to the crescendo of the annual Academy Awards Presentation a month later.

Somewhat a little earlier and maybe not quite the same watching audience, Caithness Gymnastics decided to take a little of the glitz and the glamour to the stage and created their very own version of the Oscars. They performed wonderful routines to Academy Award Winning Best Pictures and Best Original Songs.

With 2 almost sell out performances, the show was a great success. All of the gymnasts worked very hard as in the past to make the show such a success. We are grateful again for all of the help that we received to make the show possible.
    Club Clothing

A quick reminder to all gymnasts that you should be correctly dressed for training. Your kit should consist of a leotard, T-shirt and sweatshirt and jogging bottoms (absolutely NO jeans). Any sweatshirt and jogging bottoms can be worn,  however Club kit can be purchased from the Club. If you wish to order anything you can get an order form from one of your coaches.

Hair should be tightly tied back, please use grips for straggly bits and you are reminded not to wear any jewellery.

The Club has a reasonable stock of various coloured leotards, which are available on loan as previously, however a number of gymnasts have chosen to wear their own leotards and the coaches are happy to encourage this individuality.

Unfortunately the Club does not carry a stock of unitards for boys due to the small number that attend the Club. Catalogues are available on loan from the Club should you wish to order leotards, unitards, shorts etc. from them.
